Project Description

Creation of a Network of Kumi Facilitators in Europe

Client/Funding Agency:

Grundtvig Program for Lifelong Learning

Duration:
January 2012 – August 2013

Transform, in collaboration with partner organizations from the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Hamburg, implemented a project titled “Building a Network of Kumi Facilitators in Europe.”

The partner organizations came together to address issues such as Islamophobia, racism, migrant integration, and social cohesion. The project aimed to facilitate cross-border exchange, learning, and understanding related to intercultural work in Europe, focusing on the integration of Muslims and the rising Islamophobia. The core of this partnership was the shared use of the Kumi Method in combating racism, exclusion, and prejudice.

During the project, a total of four network meetings were held. These meetings included both organizers and participants from Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, who shared knowledge and experiences specifically related to the implementation of Kumi projects and their intercultural work. While the individual projects were carried out at the national level, the mutual exchange occurred at the European level.
